We are delighted to be working with our fantastic client who are a luxurious hotel property based in the Scottish Highlands.
 
Due to substantial growth are looking to add a number of experienced Sous Chefs to their current team.
 
As a Sous Chef you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and sanitation are maintained at all times.
 
The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
 
Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing
  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring consistency in culinary techniques and adherence to safety standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create seasonal menus and daily specials
  • Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards before being served to guests
  • Act as a positive role model for kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and excellence in all aspects of the job

Requirements for the role:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment / Luxury property
  • In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Culinary degree or certification from a reputable culinary institution is a plus
