Job Title: Private Chef
Location: Dubai, UAE (Live-out position)
Salary: 20,000 – 25,000 AED per month
Schedule: 6 days a week, flexible shifts including mornings and evenings, availability for parties and events
 
A vibrant family of eight, based in Dubai, is seeking a Chef to join their household. With six children, two principals, and five live-in staff, they enjoy a diverse range of cuisines, including Italian, Arabic, Caribbean, and soul food. The family desires a candidate who can cook in the style reminiscent of grandma’s kitchen.
 
The role entails preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the family daily. Candidates should be child-friendly as the children often lend a hand in the kitchen. Embodying a warm, welcoming atmosphere is essential, as the family values a cozy environment.
 
Additionally, candidates will assist with parties and events, comfortable crafting large feasts for both the family and their guests. Working alongside five other chefs, flexibility in working morning or evening shifts and a willingness to collaborate within a team are important qualities.
 
Responsibilities:

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, incorporating a variety of cuisines including Italian, Arabic, stews, salads, Caribbean, soul food, and traditional family recipes.
• Skillfully bake pizzas, pastas, and desserts.
• Cook in a family-style manner, ensuring meals are suitable for children and adults.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with the household staff to ensure smooth operation of meals and events.
• Remain flexible with scheduling to accommodate special events and parties.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a private household or 2-3 years in a hotel setting.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Culinary expertise in Italian, Arabic, Caribbean, soul food, and baking.
• Ability to think outside the box and adapt recipes to suit the family’s preferences.
• Warm, family-oriented personality with excellent communication skills.
• Open-minded and flexible approach to work.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be based in Dubai or willing to relocate.
