Accommodation: Seperate accomodation, including a private bedroom and bathroom with access to shared staff living area and full kitchen. Common staff areas will be private when the rest of the staff leave at 5pm.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Live-in Houseman to join our client’s household in Kensington, London. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in general maintenance and DIY duties, preferably from a background in private residences, hotels or construction.
The Live-in Houseman must be a dog lover as a big focus of this role will be looking after the principal’s guard dog. The ideal candidate will be presentable, a non-smoker and have longevity. We are looking for a team player who can work with minimal supervision. Common sense, reliability and a good work ethic are qualities we are looking for.

  • Perform house-person/handy-person responsibilities, including tidying up the garden, sweeping the driveway, power jet washing, watering plants, collecting leaves, and waste disposal
  • Walking and caring for the principal’s German Shepherd guard dog, ensuring the dog has sufficient food and water
  • Undertake simple DIY tasks such as painting and fixing loose screws
  • Conduct maintenance checks and address any issues promptly
  • Monitor fire alarms and occasional CCTV cameras, perform patrols to ensure windows and doors are secured
  • Understand basic gas, electric, and water meters, and be able to use Creston to control heating, AC, and lights
  • Have a good attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Occasionally assist with grocery shopping, accepting deliveries, and preparing weekly reports for the House Manager

  • Non-smoker and presentable appearance
  • Preferably a homebody who doesn’t enjoy frequent partying
  • Excellent driving skills are a big plus. Driving covers 5-10% of job if candidate is excellent driver.
  • Candidates with a construction background are highly desirable
  • Proficiency with technology is essential
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision

Work Hours:

  • Start at 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with lunch break.
  • Return for 20 minutes in the evening for turn-down service (times differ depending on the season)
