We are in search of a meticulous and skilled housekeeper to join the household of a professional couple and their young family, predominantly based in Stockholm throughout the year.
The ideal candidate should possess a high level of professionalism and proficiency, capable of managing a diverse range of housekeeping and laundry tasks. Working closely with the House Manager/PA under their supervision is crucial, and seamless collaboration with the full-time nanny and occasional freelance chef during busy periods is expected.
While the family is hands-on in taking care of themselves and their children, the housekeeper may occasionally be requested to assist with simple food preparation, kitchen support, or stepping in to aid the nanny. Therefore, prior experience working with children, combined with a warm and cheerful demeanor, is essential.
The role extends the opportunity for the housekeeper to accompany the family to their European residences in Portugal and Italy, typically during traditional school holidays.
- Candidates must demonstrate proven experience of living and working in the Scandinavian peninsula, recognising the challenges from long winters, extended darkness, extreme cold temperatures, and dry air.
- The ideal candidate should be naturally cheerful, an adept team player, and possess discretion, efficiency, and strong organizational skills. Excellent checkable references are a prerequisite.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform standard housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry duties to uphold high standards.
- Maintain the family’s interior designed home with attention to detail.
- Oversee household supplies, food shopping, and other errands, including online shopping.
- Assist with family-style cooking and prepare simple, healthy meals, occasionally freezing them during quieter periods.
- Collaborate with the nanny when required.
- Liaise with contractors, staff, and trades for home maintenance and general works.
- Assist with occasional home entertaining.
- Enjoy working in a small team.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in luxury properties, deluxe hotels, or comparable settings.
- Demonstrated longevity in previous roles.
- Provide excellent checkable references.
- Physically fit with the ability to carry items.
- Exceptional eye-for-detail and punctuality.
- Exhibit honesty, integrity, and discretion.
- Demonstrate an interest in personal and professional development.
- Maintain a positive, friendly demeanor with a ‘can do’ and ‘will-do’ attitude.
- Have formal education demonstrating a broad range of housekeeping and homemaking skills.
- Have prior experience in a respected private home, deluxe hotel, ambassadorial residence, or super yacht.
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver the highest standards of service.
